Si bien en una lista con canciones de amor interpretadas en voz femenina podemos poner todas las que se encuentran en el catalogo de Billie Hoiliday y es necesario echarle más ganas. Tengo que reconocer que es muy difícil para mí lograr una lista con voz femenina que no sea riot grrrl, pero tampoco es que sea tan complicado.
Quizá las mujeres se enamoran (nos enamoramos) más intensamente, escribimos poesía y todo eso, hacemos cosas que nunca haríamos por nadie más y luego lloramos como nunca, pero así es el ciclo de la vida: te enamoras como nunca, haces cosas que nunca jamás harías, te rompen el corazón (también como nunca), te vuelves a enamorar como nunca…
Como ya dije pude haber llenado esta lista con canciones de Billie Holiday pero ese no era el propósito, eso sí Come rain or come shine es una canción obligada para el playlist de una boda. Fue tan difícil escoger las canciones que me la pase llorando y es que ¡cuánta intensidad! La mayoría de los casos incluye mensajes del tipo “todos me dijeron que eras malo, pero no me importa porque te amo, así que no te vayas” y me sentí identificada, JÁ (no es cierto, sí es cierto) Mazzy Star como el post-punk menos post-punk. The Shangri-las y The Ronettes como las bandas femeninas de los sesentas que inspiraron a muchísimas bandas en la actualidad ya sea en sonido o pidiendo prestadas estrofas. Luego Smith con su debut y despedida pero con un cover excelente a esa canción que The Beatles no le hizo justicia. Finalmente no todo es miel sobre hojuelas (?) y The Breeders lo saben, es difícil entender que otros labios te besan. Ya sé, ya sé, hay un montón de mujeres haciendo música chingona y pase por alto a muchas de ellas pero no todo se puede en una lista de seis canciones, además es muy mi lista.
